The .EU domain launch has been divided into phases. To check which period you can apply in, please see below:
This phase began on the 7th December. You can still apply for a domain name
in this period if you are eligible, and we will be able to place your order
with EURid now.
Before registering in this period, you may want to check EURid’s WHOIS
database to ensure that your domain name is free. You can still apply for a
domain name if there is an application already pending, but you will not be
first in the queue for it. The database can be accessed here: www.whois.eu
This period begins on the 7th February. This is an extension of phase 1: it
has been put in place to allow businesses to protect names that they have ‘prior
rights’ to, but may not have trademarks for.
Before pre-registering in this period, you may want to check EURid’s WHOIS
database to ensure that your domain name is free. You can still apply for a
domain name if there is an application already pending, but you will not be
first in the queue for it. The database can be accessed here: www.whois.eu
